Another Hospital Shuts Down Gender Clinic Under Trump Admin Pressure

In a major win for the safeguarding of children, the Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma, Washington, has officially closed its “gender health” clinic!
The decision follows intense pressure from the Trump administration to end so-called gender-affirming medical interventions for minors, practices which involve the chemical and surgical castration of children.
Mary Bridge Children's Hospital is shutting down its gender facility thanks to Trump's admin applying pressure to end the chemical and surgical castration of children.

This is why having good leaders in authority is so important! pic.twitter.com/HbEqx5jBcJ
The clinic, which offered hormone treatments and gender dysphoria consultations for youth since 2015, will cease all such services this week. MultiCare Health System, the hospital’s operator, pointed directly to “recent escalations at the federal level,” including threats of investigations, penalties, and potential loss of Medicare/Medicaid funding across their entire network.
This is cause for celebration as the move is proof that strong, principled leadership can indeed protect vulnerable children from irreversible procedures which lack robust long-term safety evidence.
The hospital has pledged to continue non-medical support, such as behavioral and psychological services, for gender-questioning youth.
This closure marks a turning point in the national debate over pediatric gender medicine. With federal pressure now influencing other institutions, it reinforces the power of decisive governance to prioritize child protection over ideology. A clear step forward for evidence-based, cautious care of children.
