DOJ Report Exposes Biden Admin's Anti-Christian Bias - Revival Nation News - Blog

For Christians across America, the arrival of a new administration brought with it a hope long deferred: that the federal government would once again stand as a protector and not an adversary, of their faith. That hope took on a very tangible form this week, as the Department of Justice’s Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias published a landmark 200-page report outlining how their government had turned against them.

The report is the product of a sweeping interagency effort involving seventeen federal agencies. It details how the Biden Administration’s prosecutions, policies, and practices demonstrated anti-Christian bias throughout the federal government.

Backed by over 1,100 footnotes and over 300 pages of exhibits, this is a thorough and documented accounting of a government that lost its way.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, who chairs the Task Force, issued a statement which accompanied the release of the report:

“No American should live in fear that the federal government will punish them for their faith. As our report lays out, the Biden Administration’s actions devastated the lives of many Christian Americans. That devastation ended with President Trump. The Department of Justice will continue to expose bad actors who targeted Christians and work tirelessly to restore religious liberty for all Americans of faith.”

The report’s findings are sobering as it examines how the Biden Administration pushed its policy agenda even when its actions infringed on Christian beliefs and free exercise, touching on matters of deep personal importance to nearly every American: life, family, marriage, self-identity, education, medical decisions, and more.

Among the most striking revelations: the Biden Justice Department advised White House leadership that federal employees’ religious objections to COVID vaccines were “insincere” or “not religious.” For believers who understand faith as something woven into the very fabric of daily life, including one’s medical decisions, this dismissal was a profound wound.

The Civil Rights Division under President Biden also sidelined Christians in favor of preferred constituencies, even publishing materials suggesting that Christians could not be victims of religious discrimination.

Read that again: a division of the United States government whose entire purpose is to protect civil rights produced documents implying that followers of Jesus Christ were not entitled to its protections.

Beyond individual conscience, the report documents how the Biden Justice Department aggressively opposed concerned parents through the Garland School Board Memo and diligently attempted to use enforcement authority against parents who defended their children’s safety at local school board meetings. Mothers and fathers, acting out of love and conviction, found themselves in the crosshairs of the federal government.

The condemnation of these practices extends beyond the DOJ with U.S. Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessent, adding its voice to the call for accountability, stating:

“The U.S. Treasury will continue to utilize its authority to end the weaponization of government in accordance with the President’s executive order, and work closely with the Department of Justice to ensure that we apply the law fairly and consistently and protect the rights of all Americans to freely practice their faith without government interference.”

The involvement of Treasury signals that this isn’t a single-department effort but a whole-of-government commitment to making religious liberty real again for every American.

While the report documents what was done wrong, it also documents what is already being made right.

The Trump Justice Department has rescinded the Garland Memo and taken legal action to protect students, including a lawsuit to stop the Loudoun County School District from unlawfully forcing gender ideology on students with sincerely held religious beliefs on marriage and human sexuality.

The Trump Justice Department has also issued an Office of Legal Counsel opinion affirming religious liberty protections for federal employees, including accommodation requests, restoring to believers in the federal workforce the dignity of having their faith respected, not dismissed.

The DOJ is additionally protecting religious congregations from discrimination under RLUIPA, with the Civil Rights Division filing statements of interest supporting faith communities in cases across the country.

Many Christians in America were discriminated against by their own government; their convictions caricatured, their conscience dismissed, their parental love treated as a threat. The publication of this report doesn’t erase those years, but it does something important: it names what happened, holds it to the light, and commits to a different path.

The First Amendment’s guarantee of free exercise of religion isn’t a footnote in the American story but one of its founding sentences. This administration appears to understand that. For believers who simply want to raise their children, run their ministries, serve their neighbors, and live their faith without fear, that understanding is very good news indeed.

Key Wins for Christians Under the Trump Administration:

  • Task Force Established: President Trump signed Executive Order 14202, creating the Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias — the first federal body of its kind dedicated to protecting Christian Americans from government discrimination.

  • Garland School Board Memo Rescinded: The memo that empowered the FBI to investigate parents at school board meetings as potential domestic threats has been rescinded, protecting the rights of faith-motivated parents.

  • FACE Act Reformed: The DOJ ended the weaponized use of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act against pro-life demonstrators while restoring its original purpose: protecting houses of worship from violence and threats.

  • Religious Liberty in the Federal Workplace: A new Office of Legal Counsel opinion affirms that federal employees may seek religious accommodations without fear of retaliation.

  • RLUIPA Enforcement Restored: The Civil Rights Division is once again actively defending churches, synagogues, mosques, and other faith communities against zoning discrimination and other violations of their religious land-use rights.

  • Bostock Overreach Reversed: The Biden-era overreach of the Bostock ruling — which was used to impose gender ideology mandates on people of faith — has been corrected, restoring the ability of religious Americans to live and work in accordance with their beliefs.

  • 200-Page Accountability Report: The administration published a comprehensive, evidence-backed report acknowledging and documenting the targeting of Christians by the previous administration — a historic act of transparency and recommitment to equal justice.
