He Exposed a Billion-Dollar Abortion Scandal. They Came After Him. They Failed.

After nearly a decade of relentless legal battles, truth has finally triumphed as the last remaining criminal charge against pro-life investigative journalist David Daleiden has officially been dismissed and his record completely expunged!

This marks a glorious finale in a landmark victory for the man who dared to expose Planned Parenthood’s horrific trade in aborted baby parts.

This hard-fought dismissal brings an end to a nearly decade-long, Democrat-led prosecution that sought to silence series of undercover videos that exposed another layer to the dark underbelly of the abortion industry. Instead of being silenced, Daleiden and his courageous work have emerged completely vindicated!

Daleiden, founder and president of the Center for Medical Progress, took to X this week to celebrate the milestone: “As promised, the final charge has been DISMISSED and the case completely expunged — after a couple months’ administrative delay, and a truly bizarre last-minute ‘April Fool’s’ attempt by @PPFA and @NatAbortionFed to overturn the State’s agreement.”

This dismissal fulfills the terms of a January 2025 settlement in which California dropped all charges against both Daleiden and fellow undercover reporter Sandra Merritt. The agreement required no jail time, no fines, no admission of wrongdoing, and no probation, an extraordinary outcome that speaks volumes about the weakness of the case brought against them from the very beginning.

Under the settlement’s terms, the pair entered a “no contest” plea to a single misdemeanor video-recording charge. That charge was then converted to a “not guilty” plea, dismissed, and expunged. It’s worth celebrating that seven of the original 14 charges had already been thrown out earlier for lack of probable cause, a powerful early signal that justice was on Daleiden’s side all along.

The politically motivated prosecution was originally launched under then-California Attorney General Kamala Harris following the release of Daleiden’s groundbreaking 2015 videos.

In January 2025, Daleiden celebrated the initial settlement as a turning point: “After enduring 9 years of weaponized political prosecution, putting an end to the lawfare launched by Kamala Harris is a huge victory for my investigative reporting and for the public’s right to know the truth about Planned Parenthood’s sale of aborted baby body parts.”

Defense attorney Steve Cooley, former Los Angeles County District Attorney and a seasoned legal veteran with five decades of experience, minced no words in his assessment: “I have never seen such a blatant exercise of selective investigation and vindictive prosecution. The California Attorneys General who initiated this case and pursued it for nearly 10 years should be ashamed for weaponizing their office to pursue people who were merely exposing illegality associated with the harvesting and sale of fetal body parts.”

The impact of Daleiden’s courageous reporting extends far beyond the courtroom as his videos directly led to a $7.8 million settlement in which two companies admitted to illegally selling aborted baby parts obtained from Planned Parenthood abortion centers in Southern California. His work also contributed to Planned Parenthood’s disqualification from state and federal funding in Texas and helped ignite a pending nearly $2 billion federal False Claims Act case against the organization, consequences that the abortion giant is still grappling with today.

The undercover footage painted a damning picture of Planned Parenthood executives casually discussing Lamborghinis and the manipulation of abortion procedures to harvest and sell baby parts to research institutions across the country, from the University of Pittsburgh to Colorado State University.

Planned Parenthood officials eventually admitted in depositions that what Daleiden and his team exposed was true.

Now, with his record fully expunged and his name completely cleared, David Daleiden is free to press forward with renewed energy and purpose. This victory isn’t just his either, it’s a victory for investigative journalism, for truth, and for every American who believes in the public’s right to know!
