Largest U.S. Teachers Union Partners With WEF

The American Federation of Teachers (AFT) has partnered with the World Economic Forum (WEF) to develop a new classroom curriculum, raising concerns about the influence of an globalist institution on classrooms in America.
In a July 25 speech, AFT President Randi Weingarten told union members that the effort aims to get students ready for careers in U.S. manufacturing, placing emphasis on applied skills and not on standardized testing. “Education should prepare students to succeed in a changing economy, not simply produce good test-takers,” she told them.
But, there’s more to the story…
Randi Weingarten just announced "a partnership with the World Economic Forum to create a curriculum."

The WEF, headquartered in Geneva and known for its summit in Davos, is known for its unsettling vision of a future where “you’ll own nothing and you’ll be happy,” and that is the organization being welcomed in by Weingarten to help in the formation of America’s children.
School choice activist Corey DeAngelis raised the alarm about the activities of the institution who has made it very clear they are out of line with American interests as seen in its promotion of digital IDs, global surveillance advancement, as well as fostering its ties to Chinese enterprise.
According to DeAngelis, “When AFT members passed a resolution this spring calling for “climate-smart and sustainable schools,” they explicitly cited the WEF as part of a push to “integrate the curriculum to facilitate comprehensive energy reduction.””
Curriculum specifics have yet to be shared publicly, what we do know, however, is that Weingarten refused to apologize for the alliance.
No fan of the education policies of the Trump administration, Weingarten’s demonization of the administration began with campaigns against Trump’s plans to dismantle the Department of Education. Why? Because, a single federal institution is easier for her union to influence than thousands of independent state and local school boards.
An additional sore subject for the ATF is the Trump administration’s approach to teacher training with AI. To remedy the issue they saw with the administration’s approach, they sought to create the National Academy for AI Instruction with the support of Microsoft, OpenAI, Anthropic, and the United Federation of Teachers to train teachers. On this matter, Weingarten declared that “AI should serve our [the union’s] values” which essentially means that the partnership is yet another move to embed leftist ideology into the algorithms that will increasingly shape classroom instruction for the nation’s nearly 50 million public-school students.
Conservative commentators such as TFPP Wire’s Steve Straub argue the partnership is a troubling redirection of public school ideology. Straub quoted the WEF’s positive view of China’s model of manufacturing as evidence of misplaced priorities whilst calling the program an attempt to impose “ideological control” on children rather than cementing American industry.

The AFT resolution against “white supremacy” and “right-wing extremism” in schools only fuels further outrage, with union critics like DeAngelis charging that the union is prioritizing politics over education saying, “Weingarten’s WEF collaboration risks turning schools into factories for big-government ideology, churning out students programmed to accept a world where individual freedom takes a back seat to collective mandates.”
The solution to the mess school unions have made is the “decentralization of school system,” says DeAngelis.
“School choice puts parents in the driver’s seat by allowing them to take their children’s education dollars to schools that best meet their needs and align with their values.”
Whilst the AFT has framed the WEF partnership as an expansion of its efforts to align education with economic needs, the action has brought up a broader question about whether non-educators should be the ones who are guiding U.S. public schools.
As details on the curriculum are disclosed, the partnership will surely remain a contentious point of debate about the future of American schools.
Ultimately, abolishing the federal Education Department will return control over education policy to the states, thus breaking the union’s stranglehold, all whilst dismantling globalist schemes at home and abroad.
