The parental advocacy organization says the program’s central themes should concern Christian households and others who object to the normalization of witchcraft in children’s entertainment. Rather than treating the dispute as a question of fantasy alone, the group views it as part of a broader shift in how spiritual darkness, spells and occult practices are portrayed to impressionable viewers.

Disney and other entertainment companies have long incorporated magic into fictional stories. Critics, however, distinguish traditional fairy-tale elements from productions that make participation in witchcraft central to a character’s identity, relationships and personal development. They warn that sympathetic portrayals can reduce children’s caution toward spiritual practices their families consider dangerous or incompatible with their faith.
