FBI Rescues 205 Children, Arrests 293 Predators

The U.S. Department of Justice has announced the successful conclusion of a high-profile nationwide operation targeting child sex predators.
Operation Restore Justice delivered staggering results earlier this year, highlighting the ongoing, relentless pursuit of justice for child victims.
Announced in May 2025, Operation Restore Justice was an FBI-led, multi-agency crackdown that spanned five intense days. Coordinated across all 55 FBI field offices, in partnership with the Justice Department’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, U.S. Attorneys’ Offices, and state and local law enforcement, the operation focused on identifying, locating, and apprehending individuals involved in child sexual exploitation.
Key Results of the Operation
- 205 child sexual abuse offenders arrested nationwide.
- 115 child victims rescued from dangerous situations, many involving active abuse or exploitation.
The arrests included individuals charged with a range of serious federal crimes, such as:
- Production, distribution, and possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
- Online enticement of minors.
- Transportation of minors for illegal sexual activity.
- Child sex trafficking.
Notable cases highlighted in DOJ press releases included repeat offenders, registered sex offenders who violated terms, and individuals preying on children through online platforms. In many instances, tips from parents, community members, and vigilant outreach efforts played a pivotal role in identifying suspects and locating victims.
Leadership Statements Emphasize Relentless Commitment
FBI Director Kash Patel underscored the operation’s message: “Every child deserves to grow up free from fear and exploitation, and the FBI will continue to be relentless in our pursuit of those who exploit the most vulnerable among us. Operation Restore Justice proves that no predator is out of reach, and no child will be forgotten.”
Attorney General Pam Bondi echoed this sentiment, stating, “The Department of Justice will never stop fighting to protect victims, especially child victims, and we will not rest until we hunt down, arrest, and prosecute every child predator who preys on the most vulnerable among us.”
The operation was timed to coincide with the observance of National Child Abuse Prevention Month, serving as a stark reminder of the year-round threat posed by child exploitation and the federal government’s unwavering response.
Broader Context: Ongoing Efforts to Combat Child Exploitation
Operation Restore Justice is part of the DOJ’s longstanding Project Safe Childhood initiative, launched in 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation. These coordinated surges complement daily investigations by the FBI, U.S. Marshals Service, and other agencies.
In related 2025 efforts, the U.S. Marshals Service conducted multiple operations focused on recovering missing and endangered children at high risk of exploitation, including “Operation Dragon Eye” and “Operation Home for the Holidays,” which together located dozens of critically missing youths in Florida alone.
Experts note that child sexual exploitation remains a pervasive issue, often facilitated by online platforms and dark web networks. However, operations like Restore Justice demonstrate the effectiveness of interagency collaboration in disrupting these crimes and providing justice for victims.
As prosecutions move forward in federal courts across the country, advocates and law enforcement officials stress the importance of community awareness, parental vigilance, and reporting suspicious activity to authorities or organizations like the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).
The results of these crackdowns send a clear message: Those who harm children will face the full force of the law, with no safe harbor in the United States.
