In the midst of what could be seen as overwhelming adversity, evangelist Ross Johnston is witnessing God’s sovereign hand at work.

 

On December 4, 2025, Johnston was personally served with legal papers at his home, notifying him of a $720,000 lawsuit stemming from an incident at a public Gospel outreach event over two years ago. Yet, rather than shrinking back, Johnston is boldly proclaiming that this trial is fueling greater fire for revival and an unstoppable advance of the Kingdom.

The lawsuit alleges that during a large gathering on Hollywood Boulevard on July 30, 2023 which was organized under “California Will Be Saved,” a female attendee was assaulted by another participant after her phone was taken. The plaintiff claims Johnston and the ministry failed to provide adequate security in the open, public setting, leading to injuries and damages totaling $720,000.

 

Broken down, the damages are for: suffering and inconvenience ($300,000), emotional stress ($100,000), medical and future medical expenses ($120,500 combined), and lost earnings ($200,000 combined).

 

Johnston, sharing the details in a recent live broadcast, expressed bewilderment at the personal liability for an unpredictable act in a chaotic, outdoor public space, and understandably so. With a 30-day response deadline falling amid holidays and travel, the timing felt odd to him, to say the least.

 

His focus quickly shifted to the spiritual realm: “We do not wrestle against flesh and blood” (Ephesians 6:12) he stated, adding that he is consulting legal counsel while earnestly appealing to the “courts of heaven,” trusting God’s justice above all.

 

What stands out most is Johnston’s unyielding resolve. He declared unequivocally that this will not intimidate him nor will it hinder preaching the Gospel. Instead, he sees it as a divine invitation: “When we get pressed… we have an invitation from heaven to respond in a way that may never confront our life ever again.” This pressure, he believes, is birthing greater boldness, unity in the Body of Christ, and opportunities to testify of Jesus’ power.

 

Drawing from 1 Corinthians 6:1-8, Johnston reminded believers of our call to higher wisdom in disputes, preferring to suffer wrong rather than compromise our witness. In sharing his story publicly, he is already turning an attack into victory by drawing attention to the Gospel message that transforms lives.

 

History proves that persecution accelerates the spread of the Good News (Acts 8:1-4). Just as Joseph’s trials led to exaltation (Genesis 50:20 “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good”), this lawsuit will propel Johnston’s ministry to new heights, awakening more souls to Christ’s love.

 

As Johnston continues to share updates, he is inviting the Church to pray and stand firm for God is indeed turning what the enemy meant for harm into a platform for greater breakthrough, revival glory, and eternal impact.

 

Stand in faith, believing for supernatural favor, provision, and a testimony that silences doubt and magnifies Jesus!
