50,790 Baptisms and Counting: This Movement Is Igniting Revival Globally

Hundreds of believers took the plunge at Baptize California on May 2nd, as thousands gathered at the iconic Pirate’s Cove in Corona Del Mar, California to celebrate, worship, and witness lives transformed by faith in Jesus Christ.
The California shores came alive with live worship from Tiffany Hudson, Abbie Gamboa, Matt Crocker, and Oceans Music, creating an atmosphere that organizers described as heavenly. “The atmosphere was filled with faith, freedom, and the undeniable presence of God,” the Baptize organization shared. “What we witnessed was not just an event, but a glimpse of heaven meeting earth right here in California. And this is just the beginning! Revival is here.”
Pirate’s Cove is no ordinary beach but the very shoreline where the legendary Jesus Revolution baptisms first took root in the early 1970s. Decades later, that same holy fire is still ablaze.
Pastor Greg Laurie’s Harvest Christian Fellowship and the Baptize California movement have been gathering at this very location for the past several years, part of a sweeping new awakening stirring across America.
More than 30 churches united for Saturday’s gathering, with over 650 people pre-registering for baptism, and organizers believe the final count could surpass 1,000.
As remarkable as Saturday was, it was just the opening act because on Pentecost Sunday, May 24, the vision will expand as Baptize America will join with Baptize the World, a global movement inviting churches everywhere to participate. A livestream from the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C. will anchor the worldwide celebration, and more than 60 nations are already registered to take part.
“We believe this is only the beginning, that what’s happening here will continue to spread, touching cities, states, and generations to come,” the Baptize the World team shared on Instagram.
What started as a beach gathering in Southern California has grown into something extraordinary: a unified, global Church movement. In just the past 24 months, the movement has brought together more than 1,600 churches and celebrated over 50,790 baptisms worldwide.
Pastor Mark Francey, lead pastor of Oceans Church, perfectly captured the heartbeat of the movement:
“Baptism is more than a moment in the water. It is a public declaration that a life has been changed by Jesus Christ. What makes this movement so powerful is seeing the Church come together in unity across cities, states, and nations to lift up the name of Jesus and invite people into new life.”
From Pirate’s Cove to the nations, the wave of revival is rising. To learn more or register your church, visit Baptize.org.
