Radical Islamic Terrorists Behead Dozens of Christians in Mozambique

Over 30 Christians have been beheaded by Islamic State terrorists in Mozambique, according to a report by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).

The Islamic State Mozambique Province (ISMP) claimed responsibility for destroying seven churches, committing arson against Christians and villagers, and killing over two dozen people through shootings and beheadings in Cabo Delgado and Nampula provinces in northern Mozambique.

MEMRI translated and shared the terrorists’ report, including 20 photos of the attacks on Christians, on their website, noting that ISMP is spreading terror in the region.

The group admitted to beheading two Christians on September 25 and killing another Christian by shooting the following day. Days later, four Christians were beheaded in Macomia, and ISMP shared images of burned homes and churches in Nacocha, Nacussa, Minhanha, and Nakioto villages.

To combat the violence, Mozambique strengthened its alliance with Rwanda in late August through a Status of Force Agreement, with Rwanda deploying troops to Cabo Delgado.

Since 2017, violent attacks in Cabo Delgado have resulted in over 6,000 deaths and the displacement of thousands.

Open Doors’ 2025 World Watch List currently ranks Mozambique as the 37th most dangerous country for Christians and highlights the severe persecution they face.

Cabo Delgado is Mozambique’s only majority-Muslim province, while the country as a whole is predominantly Christian, with significant evangelical and Pentecostal populations, according to reports from the U.S. State Department.

Largely overlooked in Western media is the broader “genocide” against Christians in several parts of Africa. There has been such radio silence on this subject that Bill Maher has even called out the West’s establishment media on their turning a blind eye to this issue.

Whilst the true enemy, the enemy of our souls, seeks to destroy Christianity, his plans ultimately fail, as Jesus has never failed His church and he alone holds the keys to victory.
