Largest California School District Ignores Dems, Bans “Trans” in Girls’ Sports

California’s youth are rising up in taking a stand for truth and fairness in a state long dominated by far-left ideology.

The Kern High School District, serving 40,000 students in Bakersfield, has joined this youth-led revolt by adopting a 3-2 resolution to ban transgender athletes from girls’ sports, aligning with the Trump administration’s Title IX rules that prohibit males who identify as females from competing in female athletics.

This courageous move, driven by the conviction of young people, puts the district in direct defiance of California’s radical Governor Gavin Newsom and the state’s Democrat-led legislature, which have pushed policies allowing transgender athletes to compete based on self-identified gender since 2013.

Leading this charge is Chino Valley Unified School District Board of Education President Sonja Shaw, who authored the resolution. “I wrote this to amplify the voices of our communities—especially our youth—who are standing up for our girls and defending the undeniable truth: boys are boys, girls are girls, and that’s how God beautifully created them,” Shaw declared, as reported by Fox News.

Shaw’s own district has also passed a similar resolution, reflecting the growing momentum amongst California residents rejecting the far-left’s woke dogma.

This rebellion is spreading fast with sixteen California school districts, including Kern and Chino, having now passed resolutions to protect girls’ sports by banning transgender athletes, standing firm against the state’s 2013 law.

The youth are at the forefront of this fight, with eight girls’ high school volleyball teams recently refusing to compete against Jurupa Valley High, which allows a male who identifies as transgender, to play on its girls’ team.

In a state whose government is swayed by progressive extremism, it’s the younger generation, backed by bold leaders like Shaw, that’s leading the charge for common sense and reality.

The courage of California’s youth is a strong signal of hope for a future grounded in truth, as they reject the lies that boys can be girls and girls can be boys, proving that even in California, the tide is turning.
