King Of Kings Breaks Records - Beats Snow White - Revival Nation - Blog

The King of Kings, a full length animated film telling the story of Jesus Christ, has shattered presale records, bringing in a whopping $14.6 million in pre-sales.

The movie by Angel Studios has already surpassed Disney’s woke version of the classic tale of Snow White presales, which garnered a mere $5 million despite the film having a $270 million dollar budget.

Based upon the film’s current trajectory, it has the potential to far surpass DreamWorks Animation’s The Prince of Egypt ($14.5M) as the best opening ever for an animated Biblical movie.

One million tickets have already been presold which was further boosted by Angel’s ‘Kids go Free’ campaign which allows one free kid’s ticket with each adult ticket purchase.

More than 3,200 locations will be showing the film nationwide this weekend.
King of Kings has also set a record for Angel Studios as has proven to be its second largest achievement thus far. Previously, the studio’s best performing film, Sound of Freedom.

Brandon Purdie, Global Head of Theatrical Distribution & Brand Development at Angel Studios spoke with “Just like the Prince of Egypt drew families to theatres, our Angel Guild has supported this film through presales and strong word-of-mouth since it entered the Angel ecosystem.”

“Will The King of Kings ignite that same level of cultural intensity? Few films ever do,” Purdie said, according to Deadline. “But this film is charting its own course, leaving its mark on animated storytelling and capturing the hearts of audiences.”

The film is based on one of Charles Dickens’ works called The Life of Our Lord which he wrote for his children. The book remained unpublished until 1934 since Dickens had refused to allow his children to share it with anyone outside of their home.

Sheryl Collmer of Crisis Magazine stated that “It’s a delicate balance, to pull off a brutal story [referring to portions of the film depicting the crucifixion and others] in a way that kids can weather, without Disnifying the meaning out of it .. think the moviemakers succeeded.”

Conclusion

Is it any wonder that amongst so many sexualized and wokified films that pure, Christian content is succeeding?

People don’t just cast votes at the ballot box, they also give endorsements with their money and going off the presale success of this film, it’s easy to see that there’s a shift taking place in America.
