JD Vance Calls Out the Left's Disgusting Replacement Theology - Revival Nation News - Blog

The colorful yard signs declaring “In this house, we believe: Science is real, Black lives matter, no human is illegal, love is love, women’s rights are human rights, kindness is everything.” They’re ubiquitous in progressive neighborhoods across America. But at the 2026 National Conservatism Conference, Vice President JD Vance identified what many Christians sense but can’t quite articulate: these signs aren’t just political statements. They’re a “disgusting butchering of the Nicene Creed.”

Speaking with Michael Knowles, Vance explained that secular progressive movements have hijacked the structure of Christian confession while gutting its substance entirely. The lawn signs mimic the form of ancient Christian creeds, public declarations of core beliefs, but replace Christ with political ideology. It’s theological plagiarism, and it’s happening in plain sight.

The Nicene Creed, established in AD 325 and refined in 381, was forged to define core Christian belief: God as Creator, Jesus Christ as fully God and fully man, His death and resurrection, the Holy Spirit, and the promise of eternal life. For nearly 1,700 years, it has unified believers across denominations, languages, and cultures.

The progressive sign copies the form, a public declaration of belief using creedal language, but strips out everything transcendent. It offers political slogans in place of gospel truth, moralism without redemption, and a vision of justice divorced from the One who defines it.

This is more than poor taste. It’s theological plagiarism. The left borrows Christian vocabulary, belief, confession, and public declaration and empties them of gospel content. What remains is a secular salvation narrative that replaces “Jesus is Lord” with “Be kind.” One saves. The other just scolds.

Vance’s observation matters because these signs function as liturgy for a godless religion. They disciple neighborhoods into a worldview where man is the measure, feelings define truth, and ideology becomes salvation.

Many who display them were raised in church. They remember what it feels like to declare belief publicly. But somewhere along the way, the content was swapped out. The form remained; the substance died.

Scripture warns: “They have a form of godliness but deny its power” (2 Timothy 3:5).

Paul told the Galatians that anyone preaching a different gospel should be accursed (Galatians 1:8-9). The sign isn’t just bad theology, it’s anti-theology. It replaces eternal hope with temporal politics and offers no Savior, no atonement, no resurrection.
