275 Plain Clothes FBI Agents Were in January 6th Crowd

President Donald Trump sharply criticized former FBI Director Christopher Wray following revelations about the FBI’s actions during the January 6, 2021, Capitol protest.

Trump accused Wray of misleading Congress and the public regarding the presence of FBI agents in the crowds that day, labeling the events a “hoax” in a recent Truth Social post.

According to a report by The Blaze, the FBI acknowledged deploying 274 plainclothes agents within the large crowds of Trump supporters on January 6.

A senior congressional source cited in the report that embedding countersurveillance personnel at major events is standard practice for the FBI, however, this admission appears to conflict with a December 2024 report from the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Inspector General, which stated there was no evidence of FBI undercover employees among the protest crowds or at the Capitol on that day.

Further complicating the narrative, former U.S. Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund revealed in an interview on The Great America Show with John Fawcett that he was not informed about the presence of hundreds of FBI agents within the January 6 crowds. This lack of communication has raised questions about coordination and transparency.

In 2021, Senator Ron Johnson presented testimony during a committee hearing from Michael Waller, who claimed to have witnessed “agents-provocateurs” at the Capitol.

Court filings have since revealed that the Biden administration’s Department of Justice admitted to deploying at least 40 undercover operatives within the Proud Boys on January 6.

Additionally, in September 2022, it was disclosed that the FBI had informants embedded within the Oath Keepers, with at least eight acknowledged by November 2022, ahead of trials widely criticized as politically motivated.

The controversy surrounding Wray intensified following his July 2023 congressional testimony. When questioned by Rep. Andy Biggs about the presence of undercover agents at the Capitol, Wray stated, “I’m not sure there were undercover agents on scene… As I sit here right now, I do not believe there were undercover agents on.”

Biggs challenged this claim, pointing to prior statements from former Capitol Police Chief Sund and other evidence. In a post on X, Biggs wrote, “FBI Director Wray just told me he ‘does not believe’ there were any undercover FBI agents in or around the U.S. Capitol on January 6. This claim has been already debunked—including by the former U.S. Capitol Police Chief. Wray will be held accountable for this lie.”

In response to these developments, Trump issued a statement on Truth Social on Saturday, condemning Wray and calling for a full investigation into the FBI’s actions.

He wrote: “It was just revealed that the FBI had secretly placed, against all Rules, Regulations, Protocols, and Standards, 274 FBI Agents into the Crowd just prior to, and during, the January 6th Hoax.

This is different from what Director Christopher Wray stated, over and over again! That’s right, as it now turns out, FBI Agents were at, and in, the January 6th Protest, probably acting as Agitators and Insurrectionists, but certainly not as “Law Enforcement Officials.

I want to know who each and every one of these so-called “Agents” are, and what they were up to on that now “Historic” Day. Many Great American Patriots were made to pay a very big price only for the love their Country.

I owe this investigation of “Dirty Cops and Crooked Politicians” to them!
