Church, Don’t Fear AI: Be A Leader In It

Let’s get something straight: Artificial Intelligence is a tool—nothing more, nothing less.

Like every powerful tool in history, it will be used for good or for evil depending on who holds it, how they wield it, and for what purpose.

The real question isn’t whether AI is dangerous. The real question is whether the Church will rise up and steward this power for good—or retreat in fear and superstition, leaving it in the hands of those who would distort, corrupt, and weaponize it.

For too long, much of the Church has allowed itself to be paralyzed by fear-driven narratives and mystical paranoia, surrendering the frontlines of culture and technology without a fight. That is not faith. That is cowardice.

AI is not the Antichrist. It is not a god, and it is not the devil.

AI is a tool—created by minds that God Himself endowed with intelligence, curiosity, and the drive to solve problems. It can feed the hungry, heal the sick, educate the poor, strengthen communities, amplify the Gospel, and reveal truth in unprecedented ways. But if the Church sits on the sidelines—silent, skeptical, and spiritually disengaged—then yes, evil will take the wheel.

Not because AI is evil, but because good people failed to show up.

So this is the moment. Not to retreat—but to advance. To claim the territory. To declare that truth and love and justice and wisdom still matter. To remind the world that God’s people are not afraid of the future—we build it. We shape it. We redeem it. That includes the realm of AI.

Let’s stop giving the devil credit for things he didn’t create.

Let’s stop acting as if the power to innovate belongs only to the world. The Church must stop being weak.

The time for fear is over. The time to lead is now.
