Trump’s China Deal – A Blessing For America

The U.S. and China have pressed ‘pause’ on any potential of a “trade war,” securing 90 days of exports that will not carry the burden of impending tariffs.

Both China and the U.S. have lowered their tariffs by 115% with China slashing tariffs to 10% from 125% and the U.S. reducing their tariffs from 145% to 30%.

Stocks saw a massive spike as the Dow Jones industrial average closing up 1,160 points and the S&P increasing 3.26%.

Speaking to “Washington Watch with Tony Perkins,” Senator Ron Johnson stated: “By lowering the tariffs, you’re not disrupting supply chains … It’s brought a little bit more certainty and stability … to the economy, which is what private sector investors are looking for.”

An additional 34% tariff on Chinese goods is still on the table, but for now, the Communist Chinese Party has been given a 90-day pause to further negotiate.

Whilst in Geneva, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent comment: “The consensus from both delegations this weekend is neither side wants a decoupling … We want more balanced trade. … We would like to see China open to more U.S. goods.”

This move by President Trump is one of the many moves fulfilling his long-term trade strategies. According to U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, “His entire campaign, he said he wanted to put a 10% global tariff on the world with higher tariffs on China, around 50-60%, and guess where we are today? All in on China. It’s about 50% and 10% on the world,” he told Fox News anchor, Laura Ingraham.

From the beginning of Trump’s first administration, China was his primary target which materialized in his administration imposing 25% tariffs on the majority of goods coming from China.

“He’s doing exactly what he said. … The president’s plan is being carried out exactly,” says Greer.
