Charlie Kirk Memorial Targeted With Satanic Graffiti on the Anniversary of His Death

PHOENIX, Ariz. — A statue honoring the conservative Christian activist Charlie Kirk was vandalized with red paint only days after its unveiling at Turning Point USA’s Phoenix headquarters and near the first anniversary of his murder.

Red paint was reportedly smeared across the statue’s face and neck, the location where Kirk was fatally wounded, and a frowning face was painted on its body. Vandals also targeted a nearby Christian tribute that read, “May Charlie be received into the merciful arms of Jesus, our loving Savior.” The name of Jesus was crossed out and replaced with the name of Satan.

Phoenix police are investigating the incident. Turning Point USA said it is reviewing surveillance footage and cooperating with law enforcement to identify those responsible.

Ericka Kirk responded by reaffirming the Christian faith and mission that shaped her husband’s public life.

“They thought a bullet would silence my husband’s voice, but it only made it louder,” she said. “They think spray paint can obscure his legacy, but it will only spread it further.”

Recalling Kirk’s call to build two statues for every one destroyed, she promised that the memorial would be restored and the organization’s work would continue.

“If you think crossing out the name of Jesus Christ will silence Christians, history has already proved you wrong,” she declared. “We’ll put His name right back where it belongs, clean up the mess, restore Charlie’s statue, and keep building.”

Turning Point USA condemned the vandalism as “diabolical,” emphasizing that the deliberate attack on Jesus’ name elevated the incident beyond ordinary property damage. Its statement cited Christ’s warning in John 15:18: “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.”

Christian commentators likewise described the desecration as evidence of a spiritual battle unfolding within American culture. CBN’s Billy Hallowell said replacing Christ’s name with Satan’s exposed the darkness behind the act, while Dan Andros warned that America faces competing visions rooted in radically different understandings of life, dignity, and truth.

The vandals left behind red paint and a message of hatred. Kirk’s family and colleagues, however, say their answer will not be retaliation, but restoration, perseverance, and an even bolder witness for Jesus Christ.
