Florida Sues Planned Parenthood And A GOP Rep’s Firm Is Defending It!

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier recently announced a lawsuit against Planned Parenthood, accusing the pro-abortion organization of deceptive marketing practices related to the safety of chemical abortion drugs.
Filed in November 2025 in Santa Rosa County circuit court, the complaint alleges that Planned Parenthood misrepresented abortion medications such as mifepristone and misoprostol as “safer than Tylenol,” a claim the state describes as false and misleading to women.
We recently sued Planned Parenthood for deceiving and endangering countless Florida women.

Rep. @RAlexAndradeFL’s law firm is now defending Planned Parenthood in court. He chairs a healthcare subcommittee in the FL legislature while profiting from abortions. Unacceptable!
The suit seeks up to $350 million in penalties under Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, with additional amounts for alleged racketeering violations. The potential total comes in around $354 million. The suit claims these practices endanger patients and prioritize profits over accurate health information, and according to well-founded scientific studies, the state is correct.
The case has sparked controversy within Republican circles, however, after it was revealed that Republican state Representative Alex Andrade who chairs a healthcare subcommittee in the Florida House, has his law firm, Moore, Hill & Westmoreland, representing Planned Parenthood!
Uthmeier called the situation “unacceptable” and stated that this has created a conflict of interest for Andrade to oversee health-related legislation while his firm profits from defending the defendant in the case. Uthmeier went on to encourage House leadership to address the issue, including potentially removing Andrade from his subcommittee role.
Representative Andrade has denied personally representing Planned Parenthood or profiting directly from abortions, stating he is a salaried employee at the firm and that he has never had them as a client.
Florida has pursued aggressive restrictions on various services which Planned Parenthood and other organization like them provide. As this lawsuit is still ongoing, we will keep our readers up to date on its outcome.
